I live in rural West Dorset and work full time as a professional artist specialising in portraitures of sheep, farm animals and wildlife.

I grew up on a remote farm in Devon in the foothills of Dartmoor. I loved the farm and its animals and bringing the cows up from the bottom fields for milking when I got home from school. My other passion was drawing and painting and this became an important means of connecting with the world around me; the farm animals, the rolling fields and the fierce winters. I tried to capture the essence of what I saw as a means of grasping it and understanding it more.

On leaving school, I graduated in Fine Art from Exeter and Cardiff Colleges of Art before completing an M. A. at the Tavistock Clinic, London in therapeutic work with children using art and play therapy.

I work both in oils and pencil and gouache. The colour richness and softness of oil allows me to explore my passion for colour and abstraction whilst drawing allows me to explore my interest in figurative work and my rural surroundings, the farm animals and farming life. My enjoyment comes from the rich mix of both disciplines.
